A Simple Deposition Model for Debris Flow Simulation Considering the Erosion–Entrainment–Deposition Process

چکیده
This study aimed to determine the depositional effect and improve identification of debris flow risk zones. To accomplish this goal, we developed a two-dimensional model (Deb2D) based on hyperbolic conservation form mass momentum balance equation with consideration erosion–entrainment as well effect. In model, implemented widely-used rheological equation—the Voellmy equation—and quadtree adaptive grid-based shallow-water equation. was applied two sites assess The impact area, volume soil loss, maximum velocity, inundated depth, erosion depth resulting from debris-flow modeling were compared field data. simulation results with/without deposition evaluated using receiver operating characteristic method. implementation showed superior accuracy when estimating damage range time.

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
An optimization-simulation model for a simple LNG process
A gradient free optimization-simulationmethod for processesmodelledwith the simulator AspenHYSYS is developed. The tool is based on a Tabu Search (TS) and the Nelder-Mead Downhill Simplex (NMDS) method. The local optima that result from the TS are fine-tuned with NMDS to reduce the required number of simulations. The tool has been applied to find the total refrigerant flow rate, composition and...
متن کاملFlow simulation of gallium in a cylindrical annulus in the presence of a magnetic field for improving the casting process
Free convection flow in an enclosure filled with a congealing melt leads to the product with a nonuniform structure involving large grains. The convective flows are decreased by applying an appropriate magnetic field, obtaining uniform and small grain structures. In this work, using the finite volume method, we investigated the application of a magnetic field to the convective heat transfer and...
متن کاملA Mathematical Programming Model for Flow Shop Scheduling Problems for Considering Just in Time Production
In this paper, we consider a flow shop scheduling problem with bypass consideration for minimizing the sum of earliness and tardiness costs. We propose a new mathematical modeling to formulate this problem. There are several constraints which are involved in our modeling such as the due date of jobs, the job ready times, the earliness and the tardiness cost of jobs, and so on. We apply adapte...
